Sault History Online - Local history webpage presented by the Public Library covering such topics as Dr. Roberta Bondar, The Pim Family, World War I, Francis H. Clergue, Library History, and Early Industrial Development. Note: Created in 2003 the website works well in Windows Internet Explorer, but has issues with Firefox. Sault Ste. Marie Museum - Dedicated to preserving local history, the official Soo Museum is run by Sault Ste. Marie & 49th Field Regiment R.C.A. Historical Society and is located in the historical former Sault Post Office located at Queen and East Street. Sault Ste. Marie Canal National Historic Site of Canada - Parks Canada website with information on the Soo Locks including Cultural and Natural history of the locks. Tower of History - Site for the Sault. Ste. Ken Danby - Website of world-renowned artist Ken Danby with a detailed bibliography and examples of his work. Ken was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie before moving south to attend school and seek his fame and fortune. Mr. Danby now lives in Guelph, Ontario.
Zolton/Zoltan Szabo Hungarian born and educated watercolour artist, he emigrated to Canada in 1949 where he lived for some time in the Sault. In the early 1980s Mr. Szabo emigrated again to the USA. He has taught his watercolour technique all over the world and published numerous books on the topic. One of his paintings "Topsail Island" at Bellevue Park is located in the reception room at the Sault Ste. Marie Civic Centre. Doug Hook - Artists Council of Sault Ste. Marie & District profile from 2001 of watercolour artist Doug Hook. William Armstrong (1822-1914) - Thunder Bay Historical Museum's website regarding artist and engineer William Armstrong who emigrated from Ireland in 1851 and was based out of Toronto. He painted much of Ontario and parts of Canada at time when the landscape and culture were rapidly changing. Several of Armstrong's works were donated to the city and stored at the Art Gallery of Algoma.

Tom Douglas Journalist and author, Tom Douglas has written about the Sault and area in his self published novel Some Sunny Day. Tom has also written a number of Word War II non-fiction books for Amazing Stories line of books.
Views of the Sault - This great volume of local history written by Heather Ingram and illustrated by Graham Smith was published in 1995 and should be a part of any Saulites collection.
